The Tree – Graduate Studio Study (ASU, Year One)

Completed individually during my first year of graduate school at ASU, this design study explored the relationship between architecture and Phoenix’s lifeblood: water. Focused on a site along a canal, the project—titled “The Tree”—proposed a multi-functional structure bridging over the water, integrating shaded walkways, living spaces, and gathering areas. Inspired by the symbolism of water as a connector, the design featured a cantilevered form with a vegetative roof, enhancing both environmental sustainability and the visitor’s immersive experience of the canal.
